Appearance and Personality

Appearance: Riza stands about five and a half feet tall, with medium length blonde hair that is usually clipped on the back of her head and cat-like golden eyes. She also has a pair of cat ears and a tail that match the color of her hair. She can normally be seen wearing her military uniform, a short cut royal blue jacket with silver lining and a matching pair of pants and a pair of black boots. When not on duty, Riza tends to wear skirts of varying lengths and pants along with button up blouses, no matter what she wears, Riza can just about always be seen wearing a thin blue collar with a small bell on it. It was given to her as a gift from Roy. Her clothes also hide a secret on her back. Tattooed on her back is a flame alchemy matrix that was a part of her fathers work. There are also several burn scars, made by Roy so that no one else could use it.

Personality: Riza is very calm and collected in the stickiest of situations, and is constantly looking out for Roy Mustang’s well being. She acts as Mustang’s right-hand woman and bodyguard, since she joined the military because “there was someone she had to protect.” She is rather protective of Roy, considering she joined the military so that she could protect him, not only from outside dangers, but from himself as well. Her softer side comes out when she is taking care of her dog, Black Hayate, and her devotion to Mustang. She also has a soft spot for the Elric Brothers, acting like an older sister to them upon occasion.

Abilities/Noteable Possessions/Weaknesses

Abilities/Strengths: Riza is a skilled sniper, skilled with rifles as well as pistols. She is also able to keep her cool in the stickiest of situations instead of jumping in without thinking. She is also a very skilled dog trainer. Since she is also a cat-person, she is very agile and is able to get into some places that normal people probably couldn’t get into. Her hearing and vision, especially at night or in the dark are also better than normal humans.

Noteable Possessions: Riza always tries to carry two pistols with her, a Browning High-power, and a FN Model 1910, switching back and forth between them or using them both at once. She also has several rifles that she uses. A little known fact about Riza is that she is also skilled in hand to hand combat. Riza also has her wits, and is able to think through problems and she has been able to think of a snappy comeback or two when she has to.

Weaknesses: Riza is almost useless without her guns, but she is still able to fight if she has to. Riza’s love for Roy also gets her into some unneeded danger, since she would do just about anything if he ordered it, which could get her into some trouble. She also is rather protective of the Elric brothers, and will put herself into danger when they are around, just to make sure that they are safe.

History

Riza Hawkeye grew up in a world of cat and dog people. She came from a military family, her father was Roy’s flame alchemy mentor and her grandfather is General Grumman, who played chess with Roy while he was staying at the Eastern Command Center. Riza never really talks about her childhood, since she grew up with a military father and mother. She was practically raised at various military bases, since her parents would both be transferred from command center to command center from time to time.

As she grew older, Riza eventually started to train in firearms, because both her father and mother wanted her to be able to take care of herself. Eventually, when she was old enough, she entered the Military academy and excelled in firearms combat. She quickly rose to the top of her sharpshooting class. During her final year of training, the Ishval war broke out and she was sent into combat. It was during the Ishval war that both of her parents were killed, and since then, the rest of her family on both sides has kept their distance and Riza doesn’t seem to mind.

After the Ishval war, she became Roy’s subordinate, unofficially proclaiming herself as his right hand woman and bodyguard. She does what she can in order to make sure that she stays at Roy’s side.
